Premiers' Reading Challenge

The Premiers' Reading Challenge encourages children to read a set number of books and record their efforts online. It's a great way to get young people talking about reading with their friends and pushing themselves to read as many books as they can.

Literacy Teaching Toolkit

The Literacy Teaching Toolkit provides practical advice about the learning and teaching of language and literacy skills from birth to the end of primary school.

1000 Books Before School

The 1000 Books Before School  program helps parents and carers make reading a regular part of their routine, so children read 1000 books before they start school.

The program is a great way to track a child's reading progress and work towards building important literacy skills. Parents and carers can register at participating local libraries, or the State Library of Victoria.

Becoming a writer

The Becoming a writer resource helps you build partnerships with families around children's learning. It includes planned and spontaneous opportunities for diverse drawing and writing experiences.
