    Description

    The ASELS package provides early childhood educators with the tools to create a social emotional learning (SEL) education program that meets their unique and changing context. The package aims to support educators in enhancing children’s social and emotional development through the use of intentional teaching and evidence-based practices and has been designed to complement national guidelines and approved learning frameworks. The package includes: 

    • A digital professional development series including 9 modules, which guide educators through the steps involved in creating a quality educational program of SEL
    • A digital workbook to support educators through reflection and action activities
    • Access to a resource hub, and 
    • Questionnaires for completion by educators and children’s families during initial planning stages. 

    Detailed Costs

    ASELS training package: $1000 (including GST). This cost is for the entire service .

    This includes all elements of the package, including the digital professional development series, the digital workbook and access to the resource hub. 

    Optional:

    • A hard copy version of the workbook can be purchased for $50 (including GST and postage)
    • 1 hour face to face initial briefing session can be purchased for $300. A $50 travel fee will be included for all centres of 100kms outside of Melbourne CBD.

    Implementation Considerations

    Target population: early childhood educators. 

    Program/practice descriptions and details: modules can be completed in one full professional development day or at intervals that best suit the service.

    Staffing: Services should consider the cost of backfill when determining the cost of accessing this resource. The online professional development series and accompanying activities take a minimum of 10 hours to complete.

    Tools and systems: access to the internet is required. A printer may be required if participants wish to print the reflection and action activities within the workbook.
