    Description

    ​Billy Sparrow Wellbeing Supports – Reflective Practice is a facilitated reflective practice online program consisting of a minimum of three separate 2-hour sessions. Sessions are spaced a minimum of two weeks apart. 

    Facilitated reflective practice sessions support educators to develop a positive culture of respect and professional inquiry to apply evidence-based practice in their work with children, as well as increase collaboration, awareness of bias and inequities, practices of self-care and values-based interactions.

    This program focuses on five core stages, each addressing one aspect of reflection. The five stages are:

    1. Reporting of the context of the experience

    2. Responding to the experience (e.g., observations, feelings, thoughts)

    3. Relating the experience to knowledge and skills educators already have

    4. Reasoning about the significant factors/theory to explain the experience

    5. Reconstructing practice by planning future actions for a similar experience

    Detailed Costs

    ​Three 2-hour online training sessions: $1871 per kindergarten (excluding GST) with a maximum of eight participants per session

    Six 2-hour online training sessions: $3557 per kindergarten (excluding GST) with a maximum of eight participants per session

    Implementation Considerations

    Target population: educators.

    Program/practice descriptions and details: the program is available online to provide flexible access for kindergartens Victoria wide

    Staffing: services should consider the cost of backfill for staff that attend training when determining the cost of accessing this resource. 

    Tools and systems: educators will need access to computer (including microphone and speakers) and internet.
