    Description

    This practical one-day workshop provides participants with the skills to successfully establish and run the 'Bringing Up Great Kids' parenting program. The program can be used in one-to-one work or incidental conversations with families and activities with children.

    It is the prerequisite level of training for professionals to become a registered facilitator of the 'Bring Up Great Kids' parenting program.  All registered facilitators will receive access to relevant activities and resources.

    This workshop is run by experienced early childhood educators with hands on experience in implementing the 'Bringing Up Great Kids" parenting program.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Understand the principles of reflective and mindful parenting
    • Identify the key concepts and phases of the 'Bringing Up Great Kids' parenting program.
    • Know how to set up program criteria for specific members of their parenting community.
    • Be able to effectively implement the program and its activities.
    • Learn how to adapt the program to meet the specific needs of the parents that it is being used with.
    • Know how to use it with individual parents and parent groups.
    • Understand how to evaluate the program and its outcomes.

    Detailed Costs

    $297 per person to register in a 'Bringing Up Great Kids' training in Victoria.

    $3,000 for a customised day training. Contact provider directly to discuss this option.

    Implementation Considerations

    Target population: early childhood professionals.

    Training requirements: this workshop will benefit early childhood professionals at all levels of practice knowledge. 

    Staffing: services should consider the cost of backfill when determining the cost of accessing this resource.

    Factors to consider:  After the training workshop there is the potential to support centres to co-facilitate(with staff who have completed the training) the 'Bringing Up Great Kids' parenting program for families.
