    Program Description

    Building resilience for coping with trauma and loss is an online program that aims to provide teachers and parents with an introduction to the impacts of trauma and loss on children, families and school communities.

    • The first module provides an overview of common trauma and loss responses
    • The second module outlines how trauma can impact students' development and social contexts.
    • The third module outlines key principles and actions for building students' resilience, as well as strategies for managing risk and vulnerability.

    This program is suitable for teachers and parents/carers in school contexts where students are experiencing trauma and loss.

    Detailed Cost

    Pricing is calculated at $82.50 (inc. GST) per participant.

    Implementation Considerations

    Target population: Teachers, parents and carers of children and young people who are experiencing trauma or loss.
    Program adaptability: Opportunities to provide feedback are embedded throughout the program. Minor changes can be updated as they arise, and strategic changes based on feedback are planned for and updated regularly (typically 2 to 3 times a year).

    Staffing: There are no staff requirements. Participants are able to complete the course in their own time.

    Training requirements: There is no minimum or maximum number of participants. The course should take 3-5 hours to complete in the participant's own time. The program is delivered through an online web portal that is available on any device or computer and only requires Internet access.

    Australian context: The program has been developed and applied in Australia.
