Tier 1: Positive Mental Health Promotion

    Program Description

Growing With Gratitude (GWG) is a mental health and wellbeing prevention program for primary school students. GWG supports students through whole of school and classroom approaches. It helps students build their social and emotional wellbeing through practising skills, such as:
    • Gratitude, kindness and empathy
    • Positive reflection, service and friendships
    • Self-awareness and ownership.

The aim of the program is to empower primary school children with valuable tools and skills to help them lead healthy, successful and productive lives.

The program is delivered as a hybrid model of both in-person workshops/sessions and online modules. The online modules feature 12 months of age-appropriate lessons, activities, games and resources to help guide the program.

    Detailed Cost

GWG offers three pricing options dependent upon the program delivery format.

The online program only: $2,970 (inc. GST) for 12 months access to online program.

Hybrid of online, half-day face-to-face delivery: $4,862 (inc. GST) for 12 months access to online program.

Hybrid of online, full day face-to-face delivery: $6,820 (inc. GST) for 12 months access to online program.

    Implementation Considerations

Target population: Primary school students and teachers

Program adaptability: The program can be adapted and modified to the needs of the school or specific student populations e.g., English as an Additional Language students.

Staffing: Teacher backfill is not required.

Training requirements: Online teacher training provides an explanation of the program and how to navigate the online resources. For face-to-face sessions, schools require a TV screen / Smartboard / projector, sound and if possible Wifi access, as well as potentially some basic PE equipment such as cones, and balls. Online programs require access to Wifi, printing and some basic stationery.

Factors to consider: The recommended time commitments for the online program includes a minimum of 1 x 45-minute lesson a week and a minimum of 3 x brief activities (up to 10 minutes). The face-to-face sessions require either a half or full day session.

Australian context: The program has been developed, evaluated and applied in Australia.
