National Day of Action against bullying and violence

Join the nationwide movement to take a stand against bullying on the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) on Friday 18 March 2022.

More than 1,150 Victorian schools participated in the NDA in 2021.  Over 65% of Australian schools and nearly 2.4 million students nationwide took part.

The NDA is Australia's key bullying prevention event for schools.

This year, we celebrate 12 years of action for Australia's key bullying prevention initiative, with the theme, Kindness Culture.

Kindness is a key element for bullying prevention and promotes inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging. It is an opportunity to teach what is kindness and demonstrate kind behaviour, both of which play important roles in bullying prevention.

The NDA is an opportunity to bring your whole school community together to send a powerful message that bullying and violence are never okay, and to promote your school's bullying prevention strategies.

Together we can make a change. Everyone has a role to play for bullying prevention!

Get involved

There are many ways that your school can get involved and celebrate the NDA. This year the event materials are designed to support virtual event delivery. The Bullying. No Way! website provides a virtual event toolkit for download that has everything you need to plan and promote the 2022 NDA in your school community. The toolkit includes a range of materials to support your school's involvement, including material to support virtual events, social media content, resources, lesson plans and classroom activities and more.

Also available is a new animation series for the 2022 NDA called Be kind online.  It encourages young people to block content, report it, and support each other if they see or experience cyberbullying.  Schools can share these videos with students and start a conversation to help identify, understand and respond to cyberbullying.
