Overview

Welcome to Recruitment Online (ROL). Recruitment Online is the Department’s online job advertisement and recruitment management system for Victorian Government school jobs.

Whether you are an employee seeking a promotion or transfer opportunity to take the next step in your career or looking for your first job, you will find all Victorian Government school jobs, including executive class, principal, assistant principal, teacher and education support class vacancies, advertised on Recruitment Online

Applicants can also create a profile in the Job Opportunities Pool to be considered for teaching positions.

How to apply for teaching jobs in Victorian Government Schools

External Applicants

There are two ways to apply for teaching jobs in Victoria, by submitting your interest in the Job Opportunities Pool, and by searching and applying for relevant vacancies.

Join the Job Opportunities Pool

New candidates can create a profile in the Job Opportunities Pool to be considered for multiple roles across Victoria in your desired location, year level and teaching subjects. Follow the steps below:

  • Click here for the Careers page
  • Click 'Apply to Job Opportunities Pool'
  • You will be prompted to register with Recruitment Online (this will take less than 2 minutes). If you already have a Recruitment Online account, sign in instead.
  • Start the process

Search and apply for vacant roles

  • Click here for the Careers page
  • Click 'View All Jobs' and search for vacancies
  •  When you find a relevant vacancy and click to apply, you will be prompted to register with Recruitment Online first (which takes less than 2 minutes to register).

You can also set up Job Alerts to be notified of relevant vacancies. 

Internal applicants (current employees)

There are two ways to apply for teaching jobs in Victoria, by submitting your interest in the Job Opportunities Pool, and by searching and applying for relevant vacancies.

  • Log into eduPay
  • Click on the 'Careers' tile (bottom of page)
  • click on the 'Schools Jobs' tile
  • Click 'Apply to Job Opportunities Pool' and start the process

Seaching and apply for vacant roles

  • Log into eduPay
  • Click on the 'Careers' tile (bottom of page)
  • Click on the 'Schools Jobs' tile
  • Click 'View All Jobs' and search and apply for vacancies
You can also set up Job Alerts to be notified of relevant vacancies.

Support your School Initiative - Apply Here

If you would like to be considered for the Support Your School initiative, please submit your application including a CV and select the role type 'Support Your School Initiative' as well as any other role types you are interested in applying for through the Job Opportunities Pool in Recruitment Online.

Final year pre-service teachers (PSTs), follow the detailed instructions in the Pre-Service Teacher ROL Guide below, including the requirement to add your student ID number.

Recruiters

Recruitment Online is used to manage all aspects of advertising a vacancy and progressing applicants through the recruitment process. Recruiters now access ROL through the eduPay menus. 

Selection Panel Members

Recruitment Online can be used by members of selection panels in performing their role to:

  • view the vacancy
  • access applications; and
  • review any attachments an applicant provides to support their application.

Provisional Appointments for vacancies advertised on Recruitment Online can be viewed using the link below. 

Provisional Appointment listings are also available through the ROL Applicant portal on Recruitment Online - click the Helpful Links heading on the home page and click Provisional Appointments.

Please refer to the HR Systems Availability page below for Recruitment Online availability.

Note: Following system upgrades, some users may experience usability issues with their internet browser where stored data is not automatically refreshed. This may present as missing buttons, search functionality not working, drop down menus not available, browser freezing and other similar errors. Login issues with ROL may also occur where the password entered reverts to 'three dots'.

To resolve these issues and the login password issue, the internet browser cache must be cleared. The document below provides help to complete this process.
