Employee Self Service and eduPay Privacy Statement
eduPay is the Department of Education and Training’s (DET) primary computerised data record and management system for Human Resources related information and records for all employees.
Employee Self Service is a component of the eduPay system which contains confidential personal information about Department employees that must be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles.
Collection of data from the employee via forms such as the Superannuation Choice of Fund form and other data collected through the Employee Self Service system is used primarily to ensure correct payment and entitlements. The Department will not pass on information to third parties other than to supply information to approved organisations including the Australian Taxation Office to comply with payroll and legislative requirements.
The data collected may also be used to comply with Departmental statistical and reporting obligations or transferred to supporting systems such as taxation and superannuation systems which support the delivery of a complete payroll service and comply with legislation.
As part of the Department's reporting responsibilities, diversity/ethnicity information may be collected. If an employee chooses to provide data it will be aggregated and individual information will not be distinguishable in reports. This information will not be used for any other purpose.
Data from eduPay is also utilised for system testing to ensure that the payroll correctly calculates payments and entitlements for all Department employees.
