VET Funding Contracts

Contracts between the Department and TAFE and training providers, for the delivery of government-subsidised training under the Skills First program.

Training providers must meet the requirements set out in the VET Funding Contract and Guidelines to receive government-subsidised funding for the Skills First training they deliver.

You can access current contracts, guidelines, fact sheets and previous service agreements from this website.

Contracted training providers should refer to Contract Notifications on the Skills Victoria Training System (SVTS) for the latest information about their contract obligations.

2021 Skills First contract arrangements

Given the stability and performance of the current Skills First training market, the Department offered one-year Skills First VET Funding Contracts for 2021 to training providers that held a 2018-19 VET Funding Contract (extended to 31 December 2020), without the need for them to participate in a full expression of interest process.

During the current challenges of coronavirus (COVID-19), this decision is intended to provide some certainty and stability for training providers, employers and students as they plan for 2021.

The Department determined not to run an expression of interest process for new entrants to the Skills First training market for 2021.
