The NDIS does not fund education-related supports, such as school uniforms and course fees. School programs the NDIS affects There are two school programs that the NDIS affects. Students with Disabilities Transport Program If a student gets support under the Students with Disabilities Transport Program, the student transport comes under the NDIS. Until 2023 we will continue to deliver in-kind service while future arrangements are finalised. This means until then, there will be no changes to the way student transport is funded and delivered. If the student is an NDIS participant and does not use the Students with Disabilities Transport program, their parent or carer needs to talk to the NDIA about help with student transport. Personal care in schools Some students need personal care assistance at school. This may include help with: toiletingeating and drinkingdressingmoving aroundcomplex health or medical support. Because arrangements for the delivery of this program are still being finalised, we will continue to deliver personal care in schools in kind until 2023. This means until then, there will be no changes to the way personal care in schools is funded and delivered.
