Develop your skills and apply now for the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership's Inspire: Local Leaders program

The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership is offering aspiring school leaders the chance to develop their skills through the Inspire: Local Leaders program.

The program will explore the foundational knowledge and skills you will need to start your school leadership journey, while making a greater impact in your classroom and school.

Over 5 months, you will participate in a range of online workshops, self-directed learning and a school improvement project to help you develop the skills needed for school leadership.

The program's innovative approach to leadership development moves beyond a theoretical model by providing practical opportunities to lead improvement in your school context.

Over 90% of 2021 participants felt they developed their content knowledge around effective leadership. They said the program provided them with insight into the pathways for a future in school leadership (Inspire: Local Leaders evaluation report 2021).

The program will challenge you to evolve both professionally and personally, ensuring you are well prepared to succeed in school leadership.  

Program details

The Inspire: Local Leaders program is designed for teachers who are highly effective in their own classrooms and are ready to take the next step in their professional journey by developing themselves as teacher leaders.

Duration: 5 months
Intakes commence: Tuesday 9 August 2022
Platform: online
Cost: fully subsidised.

Structure:

  • online workshops (2 full-day and 3 half-day sessions)

  • self-directed learning (approximately 11 hours)

  • a school improvement project.
