Purpose of this policy
To ensure that schools maintain records that support the school census which occurs twice in a year. The:
- first census occurs on the last school day in February
- second (mid year census) occurs on the first Friday in August.
Enrolment and other data from each government school are used for:
- planning and reporting
- allocating resources
- input into the calculation of the Student Resource Package (SRP).
Principals of Victorian government schools must ensure that all students enrolled in their school are correctly classified on CASES21 as either SRP funded or non-SRP funded.
