Play Learn Grow text message program overview
Play Learn Grow is a 12-week text message program for parents of 2 year old children, developed by the Victorian Government in collaboration with leading experts.
The program provides parents with information, practical advice and easy activities that can be performed at home. The activities and advice are specifically designed to support the learning and development needs of children aged 2-3 years, laying the foundations for children to have success later in life.
Parents participating in the program will receive three text messages a week, over a 12-week period, with information, tips and practical advice.
Participants will be asked to complete two short surveys. This feedback will help the Victorian Government to assess the impact of the text messages and improve the program. It is free to sign up and participants will be able to opt out of the trial at any time.
Any parent or carer can sign up if they live in Victoria and have a 2 year old child (as of January 2020).
Supporting the development of children in the early years
The Victorian Government is committed to supporting the development of children in the early years, in kinder and at home by providing support to parents and carers.
This program recognises the critical opportunities for development and that good experiences in the first few years of children’s lives can have long and lasting positive impacts on children’s learning and development outcomes.
