Teachers - early childhood scholarships

These scholarships will be offered to students seeking to start studies in 2019 and continue to build a highly skilled early childhood teaching workforce.
The early childhood qualifications fund scholarship aims to:
- attract new early childhood teachers to the field
- upskill existing educators to a teaching qualification.
Since 2010, the Early Childhood Qualifications Fund has awarded more than 2,600 scholarships to Victorian educators to attain or upgrade an early childhood qualification. These scholarships have supported the quality improvement of the Victorian early childhood education and care workforce.
Maternal and child health scholarships
A scholarship program is available to encourage eligible nursing professionals to become a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nurse.
The scholarships on offer are up to $10,000.
The aim of the scholarships are to assist eligible nursing professionals to complete further education in their chosen field of maternal and child health, and subsequently increase the quality and capacity of Victoria's maternal and child health nursing workforce.
Eligibility and entry requirements
Applicants for the Maternal and Child Health Nursing Scholarship program must be planning to or are currently undertaking one of the following courses, currently delivered by Latrobe University, or the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
- Master of Nursing (Child, Family and Community) - Latrobe University
- Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health Nursing - RMIT
Entry requirements for courses include current registration as both a Division 1 nurse and a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Scholarships for Aboriginal people
A targeted scholarship round for Aboriginal Victorians interested in the early childhood profession, which will support the 10-year Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan, will open soon.
This round of scholarships will also be open to bilingual educators. More information will be available on this webpage soon.
