Supporting inclusive learning

New resources, programs, professional learning and more are now available in a single website to help you access support for your learners with additional needs.

Supporting learners with additional learning needs is an area that educators have often asked for help with.

To help services access to the support they need, the Department has collected inclusive education resources, programs, policies, professional learning and more into a single, easy-to-access website.

Support for learners with additional learning needs

The new webpages are simple and easy to use, and include different sections and information to help you with the following topics.

Policy and practice

Covering everything from the legal obligations of education providers to program support groups, this section also helps kindergartens use best practice as well as navigate the National Quality Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

Programs and support

This section helps answer your questions about the Kindergarten Inclusion Support Program, intervention services and preschool field officers.

Information and resources

Resources are available to help early childhood services support students to transition to primary school and use the Early ABLES online assessment tool.

Professional development

Services can explore online modules to help them build a more effective inclusive practice as well as face-to-face learning programs.

Working with parents of learners with additional needs

Resources for parents and families of students with additional learning needs are already available online. These resources can help parents and carers understand what support is available to their children as they start kindergarten and move through school.
