Have your say on important Early Childhood Legislative Reform projects

We are now seeking your feedback to inform Government decision making on the following legislative reform projects.

Review of the National Quality Framework

The National Quality Framework (NQF), which provides a national approach to the regulation of the quality of education and care services across Australia, is under review.

The 2019 NQF Review will consider what areas of the National Quality Framework can be improved – including the National Law and Regulations – and aims to ensure that the NQF is current, fit-for-purpose and implemented through best practice regulation.

Find out more about the review and have your say by:

  • exploring the Terms of Reference and Issues Paper
  • taking the online survey
  • attending a Stakeholder consultation session occurring across Victoria during May and June 2019.

This is the first phase of public consultation, with an additional opportunity to have your say in 2020.

Reform of Children's Services Law

The Victorian Government is considering reform of the Children's Services Act 1996 to align it with the Education and Care Services National Law.

The aim of the proposed reform is to simplify licensing arrangements for providers and ensure consistency across the two pieces of legislation.

We want to know what you think about the proposed reform. Consultation sessions will be held in metropolitan and regional areas in May and June 2019.

Visit our website to access further information or register for a consultation session.

Contact us about the proposed reform or send a written submission via email to cs.law.reform@edumail.vic.gov.au.
