The Respectful Relationships initiative is continuing to offer free professional learning for early childhood educators in Victorian Government-funded kindergarten programs.
Training is available state-wide from February to June 2020 for up to 2,400 participants.
The professional learning strengthens the capacity of early childhood educators to promote respectful relationships, positive attitudes and behaviours. This enables children to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
Developed by world-leading experts in collaboration with Monash University, the professional learning aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Standard.
Training includes a two-hour online module and a one-day face-to-face workshop, which will cover:
- understanding, defining and exploring the dynamics of gender equality and family violence
- understanding and developing respectful relationships in early childhood
- supporting children to understand and manage their emotions through social competence and promoting inclusive learning environments in early childhood
- understanding family violence and the practical strategies for building support networks.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion for the training. This can contribute towards professional learning requirements.
A contribution towards backfill for those attending is also available.
Registrations are now open.
