Comprehensive Monitoring: an AEDC Extension Project

The Comprehensive Monitoring System (CMS) will assist communities to capture and respond to children's and young people's social and emotional development, from infancy to young adulthood.

It builds on decades of longitudinal research that has repeatedly shown that every age and stage of development across the first 10,000 days of life matters in the lives of children and young people.

That is, at no point in a person's development can investments be dropped without significant consequences for the wider community.

Therefore, the "life course" approach to monitoring the social and emotional growth of children and young people is important for strengthening families and communities.
