​During Education Week, Victoria’s 10 Tech Schools will be hosting free open days to give parents, students, teachers, families and community members the opportunity to discover how Tech Schools are helping students build skills for future careers.

Ballarat Tech School

Come and explore the Ballarat Tech School, a centre of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) excellence that engages local learners in a high-tech learning environment through collaboration with local industry. Chat to our robots, walk on the moon using virtual reality, have a go at programming and - if you like maths, science, problem solving and building things - then hear from local engineers at 7pm about this great pathway option.

Meet local innovation organisations in the Industry Discovery Gallery, enjoy laser cutting activities, Greenscreen experiences and playful programming challenges. Register now.

You will also gain insight into other high-tech industry-led projects available to Geelong secondary schools utilising VR,  3D printers, laser cutters and other equipment to inspire creative design and innovative thinking. Tour the facility and hear about how the Geelong Tech School is helping students build the skills they need for future careers.

Guided tours of the facility will be provided at 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Light snacks and drinks will be provided, and free parking is available on campus at Ancora Imparo Way after 5:30pm. The open night will be complemented with a panel session discussing the future skills identified by industry in a world where robots and automation are increasingly more prominent.
