Celebrating excellence in tourism and hospitality education and training

​With Australia's experience economy booming and an estimated 123,000 more workers needed in the tourism and hospitality industries by 2020, students across Victoria are being urged to consider the wide-ranging opportunities of the tourism industry when planning their future careers.

William Angliss Institute has recently showcased the top quality tourism and hospitality education and training on offer in Victoria, winning three high-profile awards.

The wins included a gold at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards for Best Tourism Education and Training provider.

The Institute was a standout RACV award recipient for:

  • its work towards education excellence and comprehensive student support services
  • the success of its Certificate III in Aviation (Cabin Crew) in meeting industry needs
  • its new tourism degrees.

Continuing the winning streak, William Angliss Institute was recognised at the 2018 Victorian International Education Awards, with the TAFE category Excellence in International Education award and Premier's Award- International Education Provider of the Year.

Topping off the spate of wins, a team of William Angliss Institute students and staff have won the Asian Culinary Cup at Food and Hotel China's Global food and Hospitality Expo in Shanghai. It is the first time an Australian team have won this accolade.

William Angliss Institute Director of VET and Chef Stuart Walsh said these awards are a terrific recognition of the expert staff and outstanding capability of William Angliss Institute students.

'We have been delivering excellent training and student opportunities since 1940 and we are very proud of the staff and students who continue to contribute to this legacy,' he said.
