Do you know a standout Learn Local learner or trainer?
Are you a Learn Local provider that has developed innovative solutions to the training challenges presented over the past year?
Now in their 15th year, the
Learn Local Awards recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of individuals, programs, and training providers within the Learn Local sector.
The sector plays an important role in ensuring Victorians develop the core skills they need for study, work and life, including literacy, numeracy, English language, employability, and digital skills.
About the awards
The annual awards, held by the Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE) Board, represent the Learn Local spirit and continue to be a highlight on the sector's calendar.
The awards include individual and team categories for learners, programs and providers.
They recognise learners for the hard work and commitment shown in furthering their education and employment pathways and connections with their community.
For Learn Local programs, trainers and leaders, the awards are an excellent promotional tool and validation of how their dedication and innovative training benefits learners and the community.
The awards also provide a benchmark of excellence that places Learn Local providers at the forefront of the sector, as well as giving them an opportunity to recognise their teams and learners.
Organisation award category winners will each be awarded $10,000, while individual category winners will receive $5,000. Up to three finalists for each category will each win $1000.
Changes to the awards
Based on feedback and consultation with stakeholders, the award categories have changed this year.
The updated categories will recognise innovation, leadership and local partnerships and the program category has been split into small and large provider sub-categories.
The new award categories recognise the diversity and strength of the Learn Local sector and reflect the strategic direction and goals of the
ACFE Board Strategy 2020-25 and the Ministerial Statement on the Future of Adult Community Education in Victoria 2020-25.
The application process has also been streamlined and a word limit has been introduced.

- Victorian Learn Local Pre-accredited Learner (skills for work) Award.
