Members of the Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) have sent a massive thank you to teachers following a school year like no other.
The comments reflect the incredible contribution teachers have made to support student learning this year.
In their comments, VicSRC's Student Editorial Team managers Daria and Connor paid tribute to their teachers — and teachers everywhere — for their outstanding support during a rollercoaster year.
'All of us students would like to collectively say a massive thank you for everything you have done for us in 2020,' the Year 10 students said.
'This year has been a huge rollercoaster, yet you powered through and offered much support to us regardless of the many obstacles we all faced.
'You worked hard to keep us engaged and motivated, even though there were often times as students that the last thing we wanted was another day in front of the screen.'
Daria and Connor said students greatly appreciated teachers' efforts to adapt to remote and flexible learning.
'It was definitely a relief to finally get back in the classroom, once again,' they said.
'Thank you for your hard work during this crazy year.'
VicSRC is the peak body representing school-aged students in Victoria. It stands with and for students to elevate their voices to be heard. Its vision is education that is flexible, relevant and includes all students in all decisions.
Led by a Student Executive Advisory Committee of 15 school students elected from across Victoria and supported by a board of trustees, and a team of staff, VicSRC provides programs, events and advocacy to support student voice at every level.
The Student Editorial Team that Daria and Connor are part of produces the Student Voice Hub blog. This is an online space for students to ask questions, share stories and find resources while connecting with other students in Victoria and all around Australia.
