Exciting opportunities exist to support schools in responding to COVID-19.
Supporting our schools to manage the impact of COVID-19 is a priority for the department. The department is seeking individuals who are willing to work with schools to provide short-term support throughout 2022.
Schools may elect to use this support to assist with education contact identification and notification, including engaging with the regional COVID-19 management team and any local public health unit. School leaders may also delegate other key BAU tasks while principals lead to manage the COVID-19 response.
The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of school operations and leadership, communication and engagement skills, be flexible in working with school leadership to support schools that have been impacted by COVID-19. Retired principals are encouraged to apply.
Successful individuals will be employed in the education support class structure as ES2-6 and will not be employed to undertake any teaching duties or take the place of a principal at the school.

- School leadership and operational knowledge: Understand responsibilities of school leadership, including in challenging circumstances
- Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with principals and the regional COVID management team
- Resilience: Remains calm and control under pressure
- Flexibility: Accepts changed priorities without undue discomfort and is adaptable
