Encouraging students to get gardening by supporting schools to make effective use of their gardens and grounds.
The Victorian Schools Garden Awards give students an opportunity to practise environmental management and explore fresh ideas in the face of climate change.
Now celebrating their 40th anniversary, the Awards are open to all Victorian schools (government and non-government), and in that time have reached an estimated three million students.
Further to engaging the enthusiasm of all age groups, the Awards aim to support teachers in their important role as guides and mentors, and development workshops are a feature of the program.
