Victorian School Design Awards

​​​​The ​Victorian School Design Awards are for state government school projects and recognise architects and designers who have provided innov​​ative, creative and practical schools for Victorian students.

2018 Victorian School Design Awards announced

The 2018 Victorian School Design Awards winners were announced on Tuesday 23 October 2018.

The awards were open to architects and principal designers of Victorian Government school projects completed between​​ June 2016 and June 2018.

The Awards provide an incentive in driving excellence in design and in recognising the contribution of the architectural and educational design professions.

The Victorian School Building Authority continues to work with its architects to achieve innovative and best-practice design that clearly reflects a heightened awareness of the importance of interior and exterior environments and sustainability in learning and teaching spaces.

Architects and designers were invited to submit designs for government school projects including new schools, stages of buildings, redevelopment or refurbishment of a space, schools designed for special needs, or individual facilities such as performing arts centres or technology wings.

2018 Award Cate​gories

   Submissions were sought for projects completed between June 2016 and June 2018

  • Best Primary School
  • Best Secondary School
  • Best Combined or Special (Development) School
  • Best School Project Below $1 million
  • Best School Project Between $1 million and $5 million
  • Best School Project Above $5 million
  • Ministerial Award for Best Use of Inclusive Design

Future dates

Online submission dates for the 2019 Victorian School Design Awards will be announced in May 2019.
