TAFEs, polytechnics and dual sector universities are public training providers located across metropolitan Melbourne and in regional Victoria.

They offer a range of high quality courses that provide pathways into jobs or into further study.

You can:

  • choose from a broad range of courses, including for apprenticeships and traineeships
  • take advantage of additional services such as counselling support services, disability support services, and career counselling and advice
  • train on campus with specialist training facilities and additional services such as libraries, cafes and computer labs

If you’re thinking about enrolling in a university degree in the future, TAFEs can help you find a pathway to get into your chosen degree through bridging courses. Speak to your TAFE about whether they offer pathways into your preferred University.

Skills and Jobs Centres

In 2016, 18 Skills and Job Centres will be opening in all Victorian TAFES and dual sectors, as well as an independent CBD location.

The Centres will provide services for prospective students, employers, apprentices, trainees, and unemployed or transitioning workers.

Each Centre provides a starting point – a place to get advice on job opportunities and vocational training and be linked to a range of services.

For more information please see: Skills and Job Centres.
