Vocational Training: Victoria's Regions 2014
Vocational Training: Victoria’s Regions 2014, produced by the Department, provides a summary of Victorian training market performance and alignment to skill needs across Victoria’s regions.
Many of Victoria’s regions are undergoing structural change as the local economies adjust to international competition, a strong Australian dollar and ongoing uncertainty in the global economic outlook. As a result, training delivery and uptake differs across regions as the training system responds to the skills and training needs of local employers and industry.
The publication combines regional intelligence and economic analysis with training data to form a comprehensive picture of the relationship between regional skills needs, employment opportunities and skills training. The report also incoporates the findings of the 2014
Victorian Skills and Training Employer Survey, the Department's inaugural state-wide survey of employers' experiences in relation to recruitment, skills needs and training.
