Workplace Learning

Workplace learning in Victorian schools comprises work experience, structured workplace learning and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. The aim of these programs is to improve student learning and knowledge of career paths, enhance student engagement and wellbeing and support a successful transition from school to further education, training or employment.

Workplace learning programs allow students to experience life in the workplace and observe the way different jobs are done in the industry they have chosen. A positive workplace learning experience has enduring benefits not just for the student and their family, but also for the organisation with which they are placed and the people who take an interest in them while they are ‘at work’.
