- Working Towards Level 1 Victorian Education Learning Standards: curriculum advice provides a framework for developing effective learning programs and assessing students with disabilities and additional learning needs in Victorian schools who are recognised as working towards Level 1 of the Victorian Education Learning Standards (VELS).
- The ESL Developmental Continuum P–10 provides indicators of progress for each Stage and dimension of the ESL Standards, to support the assessment of students who are learning English as a second language. Teaching strategies are also provided to assist teachers in the development of effective learning programs for their ESL students.

Reading Difficulties and Dyslexia is for primary and secondary teachers to build their knowledge and understanding of reading difficulties and dyslexia. This resource provides practical assessments that can be used to identify the nature of a student’s reading difficulty and focused teaching strategies that can be used to support the development of a student’s knowledge and skills in reading.
Languages other than English (LOTE)
Languages Learning for the 21stCentury: The Victorian Languages Strategy – The ability to communicate in more than one language and interact across cultures will enable Victorian students to become successful global citizens. This strategy aims to increase student participation, engagement and achievement in languages education over the long term to 2020.
National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program – The Student Learning Division and cross-sectoral colleagues have reached the half-way point of the Federally-funded NALSSP initiative. Check on the progress made on the twenty projects happening across Victoria.
Literacy and Numeracy
Literacy and numeracy 6-18 month strategy: P-10 improvement schedule for school leaders – outlines a literacy and numeracy assessment schedule for all students from Prep to Year 10 and provides advice on data analysis at a school, year, cohort and individual level.
Mathematics
Energising Science and Mathematics Education in Victoria is a suite of actions which, together, are designed to interest more students in mathematics and science education, lift their achievements in mathematics and science and assist their teachers to provide engaging, innovative learning experiences in mathematics and science.
