- The ESL Developmental Continuum P–10 provides indicators of progress for each Stage and dimension of the ESL Standards, to support the assessment of students who are learning English as a second language. Teaching strategies are also provided to assist teachers in the development of effective learning programs for their ESL students.

Health and Physical Education
Health and Physical Education - In November 2009 Minister Pike released a brochure entitled “Improving School Sport and Physical Education in your School”. Every School Principal was sent the accompanying letter and two brochures reinforcing the importance of School Sport and Physical Education.The brochure can be used as a reference point for developing school sport and physical education programs and seeking additional support and resources.
Mathematics
Energising Science and Mathematics Education in Victoria is a suite of actions which, together, are designed to interest more students in mathematics and science education, lift their achievements in mathematics and science and assist their teachers to provide engaging, innovative learning experiences in mathematics and science.
The Fractions and Decimals Online Interview will allow teachers to better understand their students’ knowledge, skills and behaviours with regard to fractions and decimals, a known ‘hot spot’ of difficulty for many students. It will allow comprehensive collated data to be available that can be compared within schools to better understand student achievement and monitor student progress.
Science
Sample Science is a unit planning resource for primary teachers. It provides engaging and challenging activities that encourage students to explore science ideas. Teachers can sample from these activities to develop units that support students to achieve the VELS Science standards.
