Primary Mathematics Professional Learning Resource

Introduction

The Primary Mathematics Professional Learning Resource is designed for classroom teachers and school leaders.  The underlying purpose of this resource is to support schools and teachers in making a difference to each student’s:

  • achievement in mathematics
  • experience of learning mathematics
  • capacity as a learner
  • growth as a numerate citizen.

The Primary Mathematics Professional Learning Resource includes a series of professional learning modules designed for delivery to groups of teachers. Each module details professional learning activities and provides supporting resources. The modules emphasise highly interactive professional learning and provide a range of hands-on opportunities for teachers to develop their practice.

  • building mathematics disciplinary knowledge
  • designing mathematics investigations
  • planning the mathematics curriculum
  • assessing understanding in mathematics.

These areas of practice are explored with reference to contemporary research and best practice and strongly linked to core DEECD Resources, including:

Additional resources are linked or referenced within each module.
