This section contains information, resources and tools to help teachers make a consistent and balanced assessment of student achievement in Physical Education.
This resource explains the various forms of assessment within VELS – assessment as, of and for learning – and provides sample assessment tools. It examines reporting in relation to the VELS report card, including gathering evidence of learning, the aim of progression points and writing comments.
This tool helps teachers assess student work using the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). They provide a range of annotated student work samples which can be used in conjunction with the progression points to help teachers make consistent and balanced judgments about student achievement.
To access the tool, see: VCAA Health and Physical Education assessment maps (http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/assessment/maps/maps_domain/hpe)
