The English Online Interview is a mandated assessment to be used for P-2 students in Victorian government schools, replacing the Assessment of Reading P-2 program.
The English Online Interview takes the form of an interview between the teacher and the student, with responses being recorded by the teacher in an online system. The English Online Interview assesses student against all dimensions of English VELS (reading, writing and speaking and listening) and provides comprehensive information about student achievement. Students will be assessed at start of prep, end of Prep, end of Year 1 and end of Year 2.

Digital Case Studies
The following digital case studies provide a perspective on how some schools and regions are preparing for the English Online Interview. Within these case studies, schools and regional representatives discuss topics including planning and strategies for implementation, assessment resources provided, perceived benefits of the assessment and the teaching and learning outcomes. We recognise, of course, that these strategies may not be appropriate for all schools and that each school will have developed different strategies for implementation that suit their particular context.
