Student Reports - For Report Coordinators
Schools have the option of using the free Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) reporting software package QuickVic to create report cards, or software from commercial suppliers.
About QuickVic
The free DEECD reporting software, QuickVic:
- enables schools to generate the report card template with the graphic and text box headings
- imports and exports data to and from CASES21 to set up templates for report cards and for historical storage of achievement data
- calculates a domain score, an A-E rating and a solid achievement point (‘dot’) from the scores that teachers enter for the relevant dimensions
- generates a solid achievement point (‘dot’) and a corresponding A-E rating to be shown on a summary page where multiple teachers have provided assessments in a domain
- links domains to dimensions
- links a student’s domains and dimensions to a teacher
- allows teachers to change and update entries
- is able to be used on the school’s network or laptops offline
- is compatible with both IBM and Macintosh
- allows reports to be printed on A4 in black and white or colour
- allows report coordinators to extract and export, to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, the previous VELS scores for current students from nominated reporting cycles.
- produces full-page reports for English as a Second Language (ESL), in a format that is consistent with the standard VELS reports.
- is designed to be easy to use and require minimal training.
