Student Reports - Background

Feedback from state-wide and national consultations highlighted a number of issues, including:

  • difficulties in understanding the language used in the reports, especially terms such as ‘beginning’, ‘consolidating’, ‘established’
  • lack of consistency of report layout
  • parents not knowing exactly what their child has achieved
  • parents not knowing what they can do to support their child’s progress.

The student report cards provide parents with clear, comprehensive and consistent information about their child‘s progress in Years P-10, as well as suggestions on how they can best support their child with their learning.
