A targeted range of essential resources is available to support Traffic Safety Education in schools.

Stay Bus Safe Resources - the Victorian Government’s Stay Bus Safe Around the Bus Stop initiative aims to ensure that the 70,000 students in Victoria who use the rural bus network each day continue to travel safely.

Kids on the Move – a series of booklets supporting primary schools to develop and implement traffic safety programs. The reflect the Victorian Essential Learning Standards and aim at key windows of opportunity to support students starting school and in transition from primary to secondary school.

Traffic Safety Education Directions and Action Plan 2008-2010

Traffic Safety Essentials (PDF - 5.7Mb) (for young road users not crash test dummies) - a secondary school essentials in TSE especially targeting year 10 students as they become learner drivers.

Administrative Guidelines for Traffic Safety Education (PDF - 790Kb) - a support document to the Victorian Government Schools Reference Guide. It provides practical advice on running school programs, with some rationale for Traffic Safety Education activities.

Student Driving Guidelines (PDF - 425Kb) - produced in collaboration with the Transport Accident Commission to provide advice on issues and strategies when schools have students that drive to and from school.

Arrive Alive - provides links to initiatives and resources developed as part of Victoria’s road safety strategy, led by VicRoads.

Bus Safety Video - “One near miss is a near miss too many” is a program for teachers on the essentials in bus safety; the video also has segments to use with students and with parents.

TSE Action Plan 2002-07 Poster (PDF - 581Kb) - alerts teachers and parents to the stages of development and development of children as road and transport users.

Vehicle insurance for Pre-licence Education programs (Word - 33Kb) - complete this form to insure vehicles for off-road driver training.

Traffic Safety Matters - a biannual newsletter produced by the Victorian Association of Traffic Safety Education Teachers (VATSET), published by VicRoads and distributed free of charge to all schools. It contains TSE news and classroom activities.
