Studies of Asia

The studies of Asia program embeds the study of history, geography, literature, popular culture and traditional arts of the countries of Asia within the domains of Humanities, English and The Arts.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development facilitates the Victorian Studies of Asia program in collaboration with

  • Catholic Education Commission Victoria
  • The Association of Independent Schools Victoria
  • The Asia Education Foundation (http://www.asiaeducation.edu.au).

National Statement for Engaging Young Australians with Asia in Australian Schools

National Statement for Engaging Young Australians with Asia in Australian Schools (http://www.asiaeducation.edu.au/public_html/aef_statement.htm) – published in 2006, identifies the knowledge, understandings, values and skills required for students to engage with Asia in the twenty first century.
