Racism, No Way!

The Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) actively promotes diversity and encourages schools to eliminate discriminatory behaviour.

Racism, No Way! is an interactive anti-racism education initiative supporting teachers by providing effective anti-racism education, practical strategies and examples for a variety of learning situations. It contains classroom resources including:

  • lesson plans
  • fact sheets
  • case studies
  • links ideas.

It uses a series of themes such as migration, settlement and reconciliation.

The Racism, No Way! web site is a valuable resource for teachers wanting to raise awareness or explore the issue of discrimination. The lessons are compliant with VELS and provide a rich set of strategies to encourage students to explore their own understandings and beliefs and accept those of their peers.
