English as a Second Language programs

ESL learners need targeted language and literacy support to access mainstream curriculum. The Department of Education coordinates and provides services to support ESL students. Responsibility for the progress of ESL learners is shared by all staff, in all curriculum areas.

Newly arrived students - can access intensive English language programs at English language schools and centres, including Outposting programs, or receive targeted support in schools.
