Support available for Drug Education
Eight fact sheets have been produced to assist parents to minimise the harms associated with teenagers and alcohol.
Key functions of the drug education program are:
- providing strategic leadership on drug education policy for schools
- offering an extensive range of quality drug education curriculum resources to support implementation of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards, effective learning and teaching strategies, and student assessment
- providing professional development and training
- assisting schools to engage parents in drug education programs supported by resources
- ensuring liaison and coordination between the Government, Catholic and Independent education sectors
- providing regional support, liaison and consultation
- implementing new initiatives from State and Commonwealth Governments.
