Programs

    These are a range of programs to support curriculum planning and delivery in all schools. Some program information is being updated and will be linked here when it is available.

    • Coaching Initiatives – provides information about the initiative including the aims, support, and evaluation and accountability.
    • Community Language Schools – provides information about Community languages taught, locations of Community languages providers, accreditation procedures, availability of grants, teacher resources and teacher training and development.
    • Drug Education – outlines policy, school funding opportunities, curriculum materials, resources, services and information available to teachers and parents in Victoria.
    • English as a Second Language program – provides information about the range of services and resources available to schools and parents of ESL students in Victoria, including new arrivals and students from refugee backgrounds.
    • Gifted Education – provides information about the range of information and options available to schools and parents of gifted and high potential students.
    • 'Go for your life' - a range of programs that include: Free Fruit Friday, Healthy Canteen Kit, Healthy Start in Schools, Kitchen Garden Project with Stephanie Alexander.
    • Languages and Multicultural Education Resource Centre (LMERC) – Containing over 33,000 items, LMERC is a specialist support centre that provides resources and expert advice in areas including LOTE, ESL, human rights and multicultural education.
    • Language Support Program – a substantial program comprising direct assistance to teachers in developing strong oral language competency in children and young people to maximise their learning potential.
    • Multicultural Education – provides a range of useful information and resources for school leaders, teachers and parents regarding multicultural education in Victorian government schools.
    • School Sport Victoria (SSV) – supports teachers in the delivery of quality physical and sport education programs. SSV is run by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s (DEECD) School Sport Unit. This website provides teachers, parents and students with links to the organisations which make up the work of SSV, information on sports awards and links to essential teaching resources.
    • A Studies of Asia program embeds the study of history, geography, literature, popular culture and traditional arts of the countries of Asia within the domains of Humanities, English and The Arts. Such learnings are imperative to prepare students to live, learn and work in the 21st century.
    • Strategic Partnerships Program – provides funding to not-for-profit agencies and organisations to deliver outcomes-based programs for schools and teachers that link schools with their wider communities.
    • Traffic Safety Education – supports schools, together with the key road safety agencies, to incorporate Traffic Safety Education in their core curriculum with resources, professional learning opportunities and readings and links to other support agencies.
    • Values Education – provides information and application form for grants to schools and links to resources, including teaching and learning materials.
