Learning and Teaching Innovations
Innovation is the bridge between current practices and new practices. It means coming up with ideas and approaches that break new ground and open up new ways of doing things.
Innovation in education is important because we need to prepare young people for an exciting but uncertain future. In a learning and teaching environment, this means creating opportunities for students to learn in new ways to meet their individual needs. The Department values innovation and recognises that it is a process which can happen in many settings where the right conditions exist.
A portfolio of practitioner led innovation has been developed to celebrate the success of teachers at Victorian schools and early childhood service providers who are putting stimulating and creative ideas into practice.
