Multimedia Festivals and Student Competitions - see a range of different opportunities for students and teachers in Victorian schools to learn about and develop moving image creations, and to showcase their completed work, including animations, digital stories, film, video and other forms. You can see examples of student creations for competition, including prize winning entries. Multimedia festivals and competitions provide an opportunity for students to be recognised for outstanding multimedia creations and published across school communities, nationally and globally.

Kahootz 3 competition: Healthy Active Teen Bytes (PDF - 388Kb) – to enter this competition, create an animation movie with Kahootz 3 on the theme of a healthy lifestyle. Your entries should focus on raising awareness and changing or reinforcing perceptions about healthy living. The competition closes on 30th November, 2009.
Australian National 2009 Science Video Competition - a Science video competition that encourages students to investigate principles and ideas in Science, documenting their findings in short films or animations that are no more than 60 seconds long. The competition will commence in June 2009. Registration closes on Friday, September 18th 2009. Videos must be uploaded by October 30th 2009.
National Gallery of Victoria - The Floating World Exhibition The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking twenty schools to participate in an online education project in terms 3 and 4, 2009. The exhibition is a collection of Japanese woodblock prints. NGV has worked together with the Department and Multimedia Victoria to develop an educational tool that allows students to develop digital storytelling or script-writing skills as they learn about Japanese life, culture and history. If your school participates in the project, you will get free professional development with CRT support to learn about using the tool and also to support you to develop learning sequences and activities in specific VELS domains and levels.
