We have a number of online resources and tools. These include digital learning content, examples and support for learning and teaching with ICT, and a guide to cybersafety. 

FUSE (Find, Use, Share Education) provides access to relevant, informative and exciting online educational resources from around the world. Primary and secondary students and teachers can search for websites, images, audio and video as well as other online resources. When users are logged in, FUSE also searches Digital Learning resources previously made available through Digilearn. All resources are recommended and reviewed by educators, and tagged according to audience. FUSE has four separate homepages: Connect Early Childhood, Connect Primary, Connect Secondary and Teacher Resources

Technology A - Z explores a range of technologies and how they are being used in Victorian schools. Discover online applications and how they work, along with safety information that may assist you to use them more effectively with students.

eLearning and ICT Showcases celebrate effective eLearning practice in Victorian schools for teachers and school leaders. Currently there are 14 showcases highlighting learning with ICT in early, middle and later years, including showcases on interactive whiteboards, animation, as well as the Science, Mathematics and LOTE showcases. The eLearning Planning and the 1- to-1 Learning showcases support the leaders and teachers to plan and implement aspects of eLearning. In the showcases, you can find video footage, student work, learning sequences, comments from teachers and a variety of other resources.

ePotential ICT Capabilities Resource Continuum is an online tool created for Victorian teachers to assist them to develop their ICT Capabilities.This resource identifies and supports the ICT professional learning needs of teachers, guides eLearning Planning and links to multimedia  resources showing models and videos of classroom practice. It includes a continuum to help you rate yourself and reflect on your ICT Capabilities. You can explore teacher and student work samples and advice, as well as professional learning resources. Find where you are on the continuum and explore the resources, including teacher and student work samples, advice for getting started and professional learning resources.

ICT Domain Page has ideas and support for implementing the ICT domain of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), with practical advice, resources and examples of how teachers have used ICT across VELS domains. There are also links to ICT assessment maps and sample tasks, ICT professional learning opportunities and support for teachers, including links to ICT teacher associations and current research.

Kahootz 3.0 is animation software that is relatively easy to use provides students with dynamic tools to create digital curriculum content, to collaborate with peers and share their completed products. Exciting new features provide students with more ways to create stories, inventions, habitats, games, movies and soundtracks to support learning in all VELS domains.

Software for Education (S4E) is a Department site with details of software available to Victorian schools at reduced prices.

eduSTAR software - software on eduSTAR is available to schools through the Department’s School Technology Architecture and Resources (eduSTAR) standard platform. The eduSTAR program provides schools with standardised models, patterns, management practice and tools in order to deliver an effective mix of educational software and tools to enable teachers and students to access and embrace the Ultranet. There are currently over 80 software applications available on the eduSTAR software list and 24 video tutorials. The broad range of applications cover:

  • animation, digital video, image creation, drawing and painting
  • thinking skills, concept and Mind Mapping 
  • interactive curricular resources
  • logic and problem-solving, 3D modelling and game-making
  • presentation, multimedia tools, writing tools, web authoring tools and typing tutors
  • sound and music making.

Learning On Line presents the Department’s advice for schools on cybersafety, and on educating young people to be safe and responsible users of digital technologies and social media tools. It includes the:

  • School Staff Policies, Guides and Agreements section that provides access to obligations and regulations for school employees
  • Using Social Media Guide section that identifies existing policies and guidelines relevant to the use of social media tools
  • Consent Forms and Templates section which assists schools to request permission to publish images, student work or copyrighted material on the web. It also contains the Acceptable Use Agreement templates that support school communities to define their expectations around the use of digital technologies
  • Teaching Safely in Online Spaces section directs schools to key Victorian government policies that determine a school’s responsibility to foster digital learning and prevent bullying
  • Teaching and Learning Resources section which defines cybersafety and the digital age and identifies 10 factors that are key to using digital technologies safely and responsibly. This section also contains the Cyber Teach Toolkit teaching and learning content
  • Working with your School Community section that supports schools to engage their entire community in promoting safe and respectful learning environments
  • Professional Learning lists courses and programs that are available to teachers free of charge
