Prep to Year 10 Assessment – Self Assessment Tool

The purpose of this tool is to help schools, groups of teachers or individual teachers self-assess their knowledge, skills and understanding of assessment ideas and practices.

After identifying what the school, teaching group or individual teacher already does well, the interactive Self Assessment Tool will suggest which modules and/or activities might best be undertaken  to build on this level of experience and expertise.

Module 1 is the core module exploring the Assessment Advice. All teachers should complete the bold (i.e. core) activities.
Modules 2, 3, 4 examine the notions of assessment of learning, assessment for learning, and assessment as learning.
Module 5 explores consistency of teacher judgements when considering students’ achievements against the Standards. Each module contains some “delving deeper” activities that may be undertaken as options or for those whose expertise is already at a high level.
