Prep to Year 10 Assessment
Assessment advice - contains an assessment definition and purposes of assessment including: assessment for, as and of learning. Assessment principles are outlined and PowerPoint presentations and workshops related to the assessment advice are provided. There is a link to the Reporting section of the web site.
Assessment Self-Assessment Tool - supports schools, groups of teachers or individual teachers self-assess their knowledge, skills and understanding of assessment ideas and practices. The most appropriate modules and/or activities from the Assessment Professional Learning Modules are identified.
Assessment Professional Learning Modules - support the development of knowledge, skills and understandings around assessment. Each module comprises learning activities, a presentation, professional reading, samples and stories, additional weblinks and references, and advisory notes for a facilitator.
Multi-domain tasks - provides principles and a process for designing quality multi-domain assessment tasks. Sample tasks created by teachers and used in classrooms are also included.
Research - A synopsis of key research papers, current perspectives on assessment and notable thoughts are provided.
Tools - for teachers and students such as assessing own learning, review/reflection, feedback, rubrics, familiarisation, discussion, audit and planning.
Resources - contains links to the Closing the Loop paper and the Blueprint for Government Schools policy document. There is a report of the Assessment and Reporting Conference 2005.
Assessment and Reporting for the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/assessment) - Outlines assessment and reporting principles and provides reporting advice. A good source for assessment maps, assessment tasks and annotated work samples.
National Assessment Program - Literacy And Numeracy (NAPLAN) - Explains what the NAPLAN is and provides guidelines, sample tests and material for parents available for download.
