Become informed about what is being taught in the education system, how work is assessed, and the types of educational resources and programs available.
Student Learning includes:
- Assessment – information about Prep to Year 10 assessment and Year 10 to 12 assessment
- Curriculum Planning – includes Prep to Year 10 curriculum guidelines, Year 10 to 12 curriculum guidelines, eLearning planning, and training and adult learning curriculum guidelines
- Learning & Teaching Resources – Prep to Year 10 resources, Year 10 to 12 resources, eLearning resources, learning diversity resources, and training and adult learning resources
- Learning & Teaching Research – includes information about DEECD Research forums and conferences, the VET Research and Planning Network, conducting research in Victorian government schools, Research@Work, other research publications and research summaries
- Principles of Learning & Teaching – this section contains the six principles and their components with professional learning support materials including the PoLT online resource, data collection tools and case studies
- Programs – a range of programs to support curriculum planning and delivery in all schools: Community Language Schools, Drug Education, English as a Second Language program, Gifted Education, 'Go for your life', Languages and Multicultural Education Resource Centre (LMERC), Multicultural education, School Sport Victoria, Strategic Partnership Program, Values Education
- Stages of Learning – Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) – within the Victorian Essential Learning Standards, there are three major stages of learning: Years Prep to 4 - Laying the foundations, Years 5 to 8 - Building breadth and depth, and Years 9 to 10 - Developing pathways
- Student Learning Newsletters – the Office for Government School Education publishes two regular online publications to communicate to principals and teachers about curriculum reform and support available to assist schools
- Student Reports – includes information for schools or software developers, for example, the requirements for student report cards, resources for school leadership teams and report coordinators, tips and advice for teachers, sample reports, and case studies
