The Workforce Training Innovation Fund provides grant funding for industry and training provider partnerships to develop and deliver innovative strategies for improving training outcomes and the relevance of training to industry.
The Workforce Training and Innovation Fund (WTIF) is introducing new administrative arrangements, including improved service standards and regular funding rounds.
The first WTIF funding round for 2018 is open from 30 March 2018 and closes 11 May 2018 for both WTIF seed funding and WTIF grant funding.

In 2017/18, $35 million is available to assist industry and employers to address the rapidly evolving workplace development needs for industry productivity and economic growth, giving industry a real say in the training being delivered.
A key focus of funds strengthening partnerships between industry and training and the TAFE system to better respond to the skills needs for existing, new and emerging industries and the Victorian Government's priority sectors.
Innovative thinking and approaches will allow industry and training providers to challenge existing practices in skills development, training methods and product design. The fund will give opportunities for the joint exploration and application of new ideas and solutions that will address barriers to workplace productivity.
The Workforce Training Innovation Fund was officially launched by The Hon. Gayle Tierney MP, Minister for Training and Skills, on 19 January 2017.
The fund is one of the targeted funding streams under Skills First that improves the quality, stability and adaptability of the Victorian training and TAFE System.
