LLENs and Other Networks
Young people making the transition from school to work can benefit from support from a wide range of sources. Schools have an important role to play, but are able to draw on support from other organisations and programs.
Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs)
Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs) are a Victorian Government initiative. LLENs bring together education providers, industry, community organisations, individual and government organisations to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people in communities across Victoria. There is a statewide network of thirty one LLENs which were established in 2001-2002. They focus on young people aged 15-19, with a particular emphasis on those at risk of not completing year 12 or its equivalent.

Victorian Skills Commission
The Victorian Skills Commission (VSC) provides broad advice to the Government on post-compulsory education and training. As Victoria's State training authority, the VSC administers funding for training and further education and regulates the Victorian apprenticeship and traineeship system.
The VSC also advises Government on policy frameworks and planning for post compulsory education and training and employment in Victoria, monitors the outcomes of post compulsory education and training, and supports local learning and employment networks of providers and stakeholders in post compulsory education and training programs and services.

School Focused Youth Service
The School Focused Youth Service is a joint initiative between the Department of Education and the Department of Human Services. The focus of the initiative is the co-ordination of preventative and early intervention strategies for young people, to be delivered through school and community clusters. 41 school community clusters have been established across the state to ensure that services are coordinated and responsive to the needs of young people.

Regional Youth Affairs Networks (RYANs)
Regional Youth Affairs Networks (RYANs) bring together community members, youth service providers, young people and all levels of government with an interest in improving the lives of young Victorians. The work of the 15 networks is supported by the Department of Planning and Community Development's Youth Liaison Officers.
