VE&T Way to Go - Learning and Teaching Resources
Background
Vocational Education and Training (VE&T or VET) provides life-long learning opportunities and is not just restricted to VE&T in Schools programs.
Vocational Education and Training is also delivered by TAFEs, private Registered Training Organisations and Adult and Community Education centres. At any given time, nearly half a million Victorians are using VE&T options to start a career, embark on a new career or improve their workplace skills.
The following lesson plans have been developed to support the Department's VE&T Way to Go campaign.
VE&T Way to Go - Lesson Plans
The lesson plans introduce a young person by the name of Alex who commences a career development journey in Year 6 and continues to explore, investigate and research Vocational Education and Training (VE&T) opportunities throughout the compulsory years. Along with Alex, students are encouraged to explore the VE&T opportunities that would best suit their learning style and career aspirations.
Each lesson is linked to the Victorian Essential Learning Standards, primarily relating to The Humanities: Economics discipline based learning strand.
